When engineer Rahm from Djursholm designed the funicular railway, several plots were allocated for villa construction. Villa Jamtbol was built in 1911 for bank treasurer Salomon Sahlin, an avid hunter and skier, with architect Jacob J:son Gate responsible for the design.
In 1926, the villa was acquired by the Swedish Society of Medicine and became known as Läkarvillan (The Doctor’s Villa). Its rich history and architecture makes it a treasured part of Åre’s cultural heritage.
